Legendary entertainer JERRY LEWIS is to make his West End debut in the spectacularly successful Broadway musical production of DAMN YANKEES. Following on from the Broadway run and a two-year sell out tour of more than fifty cities across the US, JERRY LEWIS and the entire American company are transferring to London.
DAMN YANKEES is a song-and-dance musical comedy about a passionate baseball fan who sells his soul to the Devil to become the world’s greatest player, and help his favourite team whip the New York Yankees. "You Gotta Have Heart" and "Whatever Lola Wants" are two of the familiar Broadway standards featured in the score penned by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, authors of the 1955 Tony Award-winning musical THE PAJAMA GAME.
The role of "Mr. Applegate" is played by internationally-renowned star of film and television, JERRY LEWIS who has served as actor, director, writer, producer, and/or co-writer on more than 60 films throughout his prolific career, making him one of the world’s most popular celebrities. His screen credits as an actor include "The Nutty Professor," "The Bellboy," "Cinderfella," "Who’s Minding the Store," "The King of Comedy," and the recently released "Funny Bones." Many fondly remember the 10-year partnership of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis that made them both international stars. Although he has been seen topping the bill at the London Palladium, this is the first time that British audiences will be able to enjoy the opportunity to see JERRY LEWIS in a musical production.
