This Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis comedy/musical casts Martin as a gambler ("Honey Talk" Nelson) given the option of paying up his debts, or fixing an upcoming horse race. He hides out from his tough-guy creditor with his cousin Virgil Yokum (Jerry), who gets mixed up with an Arab sheik, pretends to be one of his harem, and ends up impersonating a famous British jockey and riding in a big race. This was the first Martin and Lewis film shot in Technicolor and the only film shot in the then popular 3-D process. Not one of the best Martin & Lewis efforts, but Jerry’s pantomime routine is a particular highlight that brings on the belly laughs. |
