Martin and Lewis were among the guests on Ed Sullivan’s first network television show. Jerry and Ed went on to become great friends. Jerry performed on Ed’s show many times over the years, and even talked Ed into portraying an over exaggerated version of himself in Jerry’s film "The Patsy" (1964).
