Streaming Audio

This section of the Museum uses "streaming audio" technology from Progressive Networks' RealAudio product. Streaming audio means that as a file is downloaded from our server to your local computer, it begins to play BEFORE the whole file is downloaded. This allows you to start listening to the audio after just a few seconds--normally you would have to wait for the entire audio file to download (this could take up to an hour in some cases) before seeing anything. We will feature various audio clips and sound bites from Jerry's performances, rotating them often.

In order to use this streaming audio feature, you must first download the free RealAudio Player software -- from Progressive Networks' Web site -- and install it onto your local computer. You'll only need to do this download/installation procedure once. Also, we currently have the capability for 10 simultaneous "feeds" which means that only 10 Museum visitors at a time will be able to listen to the streaming audio files. If you get an error message after downloading/installing the Player while trying to view a streaming audio clip, there are likely no available "feeds." We will be upgrading the number of "feeds" as demand warrants. If you get this error message, just try again a bit later.
